Food and Drink
Important meal, snack, and beverage guidelines for Victory Elementary students.
School Meals & Snacks
- The cafeteria provides meals and snacks before school, during lunch, and after school.
- Families are asked to complete the Food Service application sent home each year. These forms impact school funding.
- State law prohibits students from taking school food items out of the cafeteria at breakfast and lunch.
- School food and drink items may not be consumed by non-students, including parents and younger siblings, even when food is left over from a student's meal.
Food Deliveries
- Food deliveries to students from businesses are not allowed.
- If a parent or guardian brings food for their child, it must be dropped off at the school office.
- The student will pick up the food during their designated lunch period.
Where Food May Be Eaten
- Students may not eat in classrooms unless authorized by the teacher.
- Students may not eat food or drink beverages on the playground unless they are seated at a picnic table and have permission from a teacher or yard supervisor.
Sharing Food
Sharing food and drinks with classmates is a health risk and is not permitted.
Families are encouraged to send only individual, snack-sized portions of items such as chips or cookies with their child.
Water & Beverages
- Students are encouraged to drink water throughout the day.
- Water fountains are available outside and in some classrooms.
- Students may bring a water bottle to school for use in the classroom.
- Only plain water may be consumed in classrooms.
- Other beverages brought from home must be consumed in the cafeteria during lunch.
- Soda and sugary drinks are discouraged.
- Caffeinated energy drinks, such as Red Bull, are not permitted.
